    Arts Place is now accepting registrations for the ArtWorks program. ArtWorks offers creative experiences and instruction in a wide variety of media for both children and adults. Each Arts Place center offers its own unique lineup of classes led by local teaching artists.

    The Blackford County Arts Center will offer several classes for children and adults. Classes include printmaking, pour painting, needle felting, photography and scarf dying. Child and adult clay classes are available for registration as well.

    The Auglaize/Mercer Center has greatly expanded its offerings this year to include photography, belly dancing, comic book art, jewelry making and more. A variety of makeup artistry classes will be offered including Character and Cosplay Makeup Effects, Zombie and Monster Makeup and Special Effects Makeup. A Cookies and Canvas painting class for children will be held as well.

    The Portland Center of Arts Place offers six week classes in oil painting, clay for children or adults, and toddler art. One and two day classes for adults include Pit Fire Pottery, Basket Making, Earring Extravaganza and more. Classes for children offer unique opportunities to make Halloween ghoul cups, painted jungle collages, mosaic stepping stones and other fun creations.

    Classes begin in late August. Registration forms and class descriptions can be picked up at any of the Arts Place centers or online at artsland.org. Scholarship applications are available as well.
