Are you ready for some spaghetti you won’t forghetti? Then, be sure to stop by the Montpelier Civic Center on Sunday, April 29 when they host their first-ever spaghetti dinner!

The dinner is set to begin at noon and will last until 1:30 p.m. The menu will include spaghetti, garlic bread, a salad and dessert. Meals are $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.

The civic center has been hosting dinners every three months to continue to raise money for their expansion project and future programming. The dinners help raise needed funds for the various projects.

The first two phases of their expansion project are nearly complete. The first phase included creating a doorway from the fitness center to the mezzanine staircase to create two stories of workout equipment. Fire safety doors were also added to each mezzanine stairway and five new pieces of equipment were purchased.

The second phase was creating a wall on the second story. Originally, the mezzanine boasted a 3 ½ foot wall. Due to safety, sound and heating and air, the center’s board chose to install a wall. The wall has 6 windows so members can see into the gymnasium and will have two mirrors once completed.

Mobile wall units were also purchased and placed in the mezzanine to separate the fitness center from the area where exercise classes are held. The mobile units create privacy for both fitness center users and exercise class attendees.

Exercise instructor, Shaina McKinnon, currently holds Pop Pilates and Yoga classes four days per week. Mondays and Wednesdays are Pop Pilates. Monday’s class runs from 5:30 to 6 p.m. The cost is $3 for non-members and $1.50 for members. Wednesday’s classes run from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and are $5 for non-members are $3 for members. Yoga classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday. Tuesday’s classes run from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and cost $5 for non-members or $2.50 for members. Thursday’s classes run from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. and are $3 for non-members or $1.50 for members. Pop Pilates classes are held in the mezzanine, while Yoga classes are held in the conference room.
