Madison County – Just before 9:30 p.m. last night, 5/11/2020, Trooper Michael Thiron responded to CR 150 E., just north of CR 1750 N., for a one vehicle crash in Madison County. Off duty Trooper Jeremy Mason had been nearby and responded to the scene first to offer assistance. Thiron arrived to find Michael Price, age 28 of Fairmont, conscious and alert, sitting on the ground behind his 1992 Mitsubishi pickup.
The preliminary investigation by Trooper Thiron indicated the pickup was driving south on CR 150 E. when it failed to negotiate a left hand curve and went off the west side of the road. Price over corrected the vehicle steering it back across the road where it left the east side of the road and rolled at least once, ejecting Price, who was not wearing his safety belt.
Price was transported to Community Hospital in Anderson, with minor injuries, where he was treated and released. Upon his release Trooper Thiron arrested Price on suspicion of Operating While Intoxicated, With a Prior Conviction, Level 6 Felony and misdemeanor Operating While Intoxicated, Endangerment. Price was lodged in the Madison County Jail. Thiron determined alcohol usage and excessive speed were the main causal factors of the crash.
All Suspects Are Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty in a Court of Law.
