Applications due from qualified organizations by Monday, February 1, 2021

Wells County has been notified that it will be awarded an estimated $6,443 in federal Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) funds through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, as appropriated by Congress. Additionally, funds to benefit Blackford County will be awarded $4,876.

A Local Board will determine how the funds awarded to Wells County and Blackford County are to be distributed among local agencies in each area. The Local Board is responsible for recommending agencies to receive these funds. In anticipation of this award and deadlines, the Local EFSP Board is encouraging local agencies that meet requirements to apply for the funds. 

Nonprofit organizations or public agencies interested in applying for Phase 38 Emergency Food and Shelter Program funds must contact Local Board Chair Pamela Beckford, 122 LaMar St., Suite 118, 260-824-5589, pamela@unitedwaywells.org for requirements. Requests should be emailed and should include how the organization proposes to distribute the funds in accordance with EFSP guideines. The deadline for applications to be received is Monday, February 1, 2021
