Portland – IU Health Jay is happy to announce that beginning August 3, 2020 Virtual Intensive Outpatient Services will be available locally. The Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program will provide a caring and supportive environment for individuals dealing with substance use disorders and other conditions such as mental illness, grief, loss and trauma.

A multidisciplinary team will be available to offer comprehensive services allowing patients in Jay County to be active participants in group and individual therapy through audio and visual technology linking IU Health Jay with IU Health Ball treatment programs. Recovery coaches will be onsite to facilitate these services and provide coaching.

This program assists individuals who can benefit from participation in a structured therapeutic recovery program while still maintaining involvement in school or employment as well as a connection to supports such as family and friends.

“We are extremely excited about this new program available to the Jay County community. Our goal is not only to help those dealing with substance use disorder break the cycle of addiction, but to also give our patients the tools they need to build or rebuild a satisfying life,” states Jenni VanSkyock, LCSW, LCAC, LISW-S, Program Manager of IU Health Jay Outpatient Behavioral Health and Ball Addiction Treatment and Recovery Center.

The Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program includes:

•Group psychotherapy

•Medication Assisted Treatment (at IU Health Ball ATRC location)

•Group education

•Recovery coaching

•Relapse prevention skills

•12-step program education

•Mindfulness/meditation

“I’m so excited for us to be able to offer a service to those in our area where there has continued to be a gap in treatment availability. It will provide an option locally to those in need and assist them in entering sustainable recovery,” said Cassie Alexander, LCSW Outpatient Therapist.

The program hours are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 am – Noon, with program hours extending to accommodate individual psychotherapy, recovery coaching or medication management appointments. Program is covered by most major insurances, including Medicare, Medicaid and HIP.
