The Fall Athletic Award Program for Blackford High School athletes was held on Thursday, November 7 at Blackford Jr-Sr High School. 

Girls Soccer

Those earning Major B’s were Olivia Leas, Valentina Donato, and Jaleigh O’Connell.

Earning patches for subsequent Major B’s were Bre Adney, Cameron Hall, Gabrielle Henderson, Gabrielle Reid, Keylee Shady, Alexa Hurd, Layla Pennington, Grace Simmons, Jaycie Sones, Helen Whitesell, Kaylin Clamme, Kiley Eppard, Sophia Jennerjahn, Jenna Payne, and Anya Uggen.

 Earning Captain’s patches were Bre Adney, Gabrielle Henderson, and Gabrielle Reid.

Earning their numerals were Oliva Leas and Jaleigh O’Connell.

Earning individual awards were Gabrielle Henderson (Leadership Award), Layla Henderson and Jaycie Sones (Bruin Award), and Valentina Donato (Most Improved).

The Lady Bruins finished the season 6-8 and were coached by Michelle Gross with assistance from Larry Gross and Aaron Henderson.

Football

Those earning Major B’s were Noah Knag, Maxwell Wors, Braedon Bannister, and Michael Norris.

Earning JV certificates for subsequent JV B’s were Hayden Cristobal and Darren Ramseyer.

Earning his award jacket was Carson Sehy.

Earning individual awards were Joey Payne (Defensive Back), Myles Randall (Defensive Lineman), Isaac Justice (Offensive Back), Nicholas Otwinowski (Offensive Lineman), and Kinser Crabtree (Coaches Award).

Earning All-CIC 1st Team honors were Isaac Justice (Off RB), Nicholas Otwinowski (Off C) and Joey Payne (Def LB). Earning All-CIC Honorable Mention honors were Joey Payne (Off TE) and Jackson Bell (Off T).

The Bruins finished 5-5 and finished 3rd in the CIC. Isaac Justice became just the second (Joe Schmidt was the other) Bruin running back in school history to rush for 1000 in two separate seasons. The C team finished 2-4. The Bruins were coached by Randy Sehy with assistance from Mike Jones, Rick Clay, Bob Banter, and Wade Hummer.

Boys Cross Country

Those earning Major B’s were Dane Baker, Elijah Martin, Donovan Osborn and Ethan Hidy (Mgr).

Earning patches for subsequent Major B’s were Cameron Rinker, Brayden Roberts, Drew Caldwell, Kendall Scher, Noah Kitterman, and Lance Manley.

Earning a Captain’s patch were Drew Caldwell and Brayden Roberts.

 Earning their numerals were Ethan Hidy (Mgr), Elijah Martin, and Donovan Osborn.

Earning his award jacket was Drew Caldwell who also earned All-CIC honors.

Earning individual awards were Drew Caldwell (Most Valuable Runner), Noah Kitterman (Most PRs), and Elijah Martin (Rookie Runner).

Qualifying for the Regional was Drew Caldwell, Noah Kitterman, and Brayden Roberts.

The Bruins finished 4th in the CIC. Their overall record was 59-49. They were coached by Holly Caldwell with assistance from Lisa Rinker.

Girls Cross Country

Those earning Major B’s was Kylee Darnell, Cami Caldwell, Allison Jacobs, and Kelli Rinker (Mgr).

Earning a patch for a subsequent Major B were Natalie Blakely, Natalie Thurman, Ruby Slentz, and Samantha Williamson.

Earning Captain’s patches were Natalie Thurman and Ruby Slentz.

 Earning individual awards were Cami Caldwell (Most Valuable Runner), Allison Jacobs (Rookie Runner) and Samantha Williamson (Most PRs).

Cami Caldwell advanced to Semi-State as an individual and earned All-CIC honors.

The Lady Bruins were 0-2 (30-56 overall). The team finished 5th in the CIC. The girls finished 4th at the Marion Sectional and advanced to the Regional. They were coached by Holly Caldwell with assistance from Lisa Rinker.

Boys Soccer

Those earning Major B’s were Jerrid Kershner, Noah Ridgway, Dayton Hoover, Nathaniel Limle, and Dylan Teer.

Earning patches for subsequent Major B’s were Brayden Kunz, Shaden Morrow, Collin Penrod, Cameron Rinker, Layne Smith, Ethan Watt, Tyler Brown, Jackson Cranston, Steffen Hoover, Kendall Scher, Brayden Smith, Evan Watt, Gabriel Foster, Ian Reid, and Abby Landgon (Mgr).

 Earning JV B’s were Nicholas Aulbach and Matthew Rich.

Earning a JV Certificate for a subsequent JV B were Dane Baker and Isaiah Miller.

Earning Captain’s awards were Brayden Kunz, Cameron Rinker, and Ethan Watt.

Earning their numerals were Nicholas Aulbach, Dayton Hoover, Nathaniel Limle, Matthew Rich, and Dylan Teer.

Individual award winners were Evan Watt (Most Improved), Collin Penrod (Bruin Award) and Nathaniel Limle (Mental Attitude).

The Bruins finished the season 1-14-1. The team was coached by Brad Batman with assistance from Dale Gearheart. The JV finished the season 4-2-1.

Unified Flag Football

Those earning patches for subsequent Major B’s were Jen McCaffery, Bronson Alter, Kyler Brock, Angel Thomas, Logan Wilson, and Austin Rountree.

Earning Partner Certificates were Erin Cagle, Emma Jacobs, Branstan Wine, Reaghan Harding, Eli Leach, and Spencer Parker.

 Earning individual awards were Emma Jacobs (Leadership Award), Erin Cagle (Commitment to Unified Sports), Branstan Wine (Spirit of Unified Sports Partner), and Reaghan Harding (Mental Attitude Award).

Earning other certificates were Austin Rountree (1st Touchdown), Jen McCaffery and Emma Jacobs (200 Career Rushing Yards), Logan Wilson (Spirit of Unified Sports Athlete), Angel Thomas (100 Career Rushing Yards), Kyler Brock (Most Improved Athlete), and Brianna McNeal (Commitment to Two Sports).

The team finished 1-6 and were coached by Tyler McDonald with assistance from Linda Wallace.

Volleyball

Earning All-CIC Honorable Mention honors were Lilee Lamotte and Paige Maloney.

The varsity was 5-25 and the JV was 3-23. The Lady Bruins were coached by Mark Rodgers with assistance from Angie Mendoza and Kristi Norton.
