The Bruin varsity cross country teams traveled to Huntington University’s cross country course for the New Haven Classic. Huntington University hosted as the usual course at PFW is unavailable due to the pandemic.

Despite the slower times, the teams have overcome the challenges due to circumstances beyond their control. Both teams were not running with all teammates. This was a new course to the runners full of rolling hills, changing terrain, and wide open spaces.

Leading the way for the girls’ team was Allie Clamme racing to 24:06. The remainder of the girls’ team included Ammee Uggen (26:07), Ruby Slentz (26:34), Kylee Darnell (28:30), and Kirsten Fisher (46:50). The team was 17th of 17 scoring teams.

Running in the top position for the Blackford boys’ cross country team was Noah Kitterman, completing a time of 18:29. The remainder of the boy’s team included freshman, Darius Osborn (19:03), Keaton Walker (21:25), Todd Thornburgh (24:15), and Charleston Slentz (24:40). The team placed 22nd of 23 teams.

The Bruins are at the CIC Championships next Saturday. The meet will take place at IWU.
