The Blackford boys’ basketball team ran into a bigger, more athletic team Friday night in falling to Mississinewa, 84-62.
The Bruins hung around early trailing 18-14 after one. But Ole Miss outscored the Bruins 28-16 to take a 16-point lead at the half, 46-30.
The Bruins trimmed the lead to 13 after three, but were outscored by nine in the final quarter.
The Bruins struggled from the field hitting just 37% of their shots overall and just 4 for 20 from behind the arc for just 20%. The Bruins also turned the ball over 19 times.
Luke Brown scored 31 points to lead the Bruins. It was the 33rd time in his 49 career games that he topped the 30-point mark.
Brandon Stroble added 14 and 7 rebounds. Max Wors recorded 5 points and 5 rebounds.
