The Bruin football team dropped their Senior Night contest to 4A, #9 Mississinewa (8-1) 38-13. The bigger and faster Indians were dominant offensively much of the night, but the Bruins did their best to hold their own and hung around early.
After a tackle for a loss to start the game, the Indians scored on the second play of the game when Ethan Bennett connected with Carson Campbell for a 69-yard TD. The PAT was good and it was 7-0. After a Bruin fumble early in their first drive, Campbell raced 13 yards for his second touchdown. The PAT was good and it was 14-0 and not looking good for the Bruins.
But a new quarter and a great long run by Quinten Teer set the Bruins up for their first score of the game. Isaac Justice eventually scored from a yard out to make it 14-6. But the PAT went over the holders head to keep the score the same.
With just over 7 minutes to go in the half Campbell scored for the third time on a 28-yard run, and with the PAT it was 21-6.
Andre Sallade, the Indian kicker with a great leg, later kicked a 43-yard field goal to put the Indians up 24-6.
Campbell scored for the fourth time on a 22-yard run late in the half to put the Indians, after the PAT, up by 24 heading to the half.
Things slowed down considerably in the second half, but Isaac Justice scored for the second time on a 7-yard run late in the third.
Bode Malott kicked the PAT and it was 31-13. Tai McClung scored on a 1-yard run early in the fourth quarter. Sallade added the PAT and the game finished 38-13.
