Kenton Pontius, a 1973 Blackford County High School graduate, was presented with a 2019 Emmy Award. He was a member of the NASA Team that received the Emmy Award for Outstanding Interactive Program.

Kenton works as an Engineer supporting NASA, SpaceX, Boeing, and other space launch events at Kennedy Space Center, Florida. He received the award for his support of the SpaceX Crew Dragon Demo-1 Launch in 2019. The NASA team was competing against five late night shows in the category (Conan, Stephen Colbert, James Corden, John Oliver and Trevor Noah).

Kenton is the son of the late Ralph and Vera Pontius of Hartford City. He and his wife Connie live in Cocoa Beach, Florida and have two sons.
