The Lady Bruins won their sixth game of the year against Blue River, 10-0 on Friday. Kiley Eppard pitched well again going six innings for the complete game win. She  struck out 10 batters and allowed only one hit.

Coach Scott Cagle said, “Kiley has been solid the last three outings that she has pitched. She has struck out 17 batters in the last two games. I think she has hit her groove. The offense put 12 hits together in six innings. It’s nice to see everyone hitting the ball well the last few games.”

The Bruins haven’t put together 22 hits in the last two games.

Leading the offense was Grace Simmons who went 4-5. Erin Cagle and Kiley Eppard went 2-4. Seniors Mackenzie Hundley and Rose Berry were each 2-3.

Coach Cagle added, “A big thanks to seniors Mackenzie Hundley, Jaci Rogers, Peyote Henderson, Rose Berry and Lauriah Lytle for sticking with the program. You girls will be missed. Good luck!”

The Lady Bruins, despite at least a couple of underclass starters who did not return from last year, improved from a three-win season in ’18 to win six so far this year.

Lady Bruins defeat Marion in rain on Thursday

Kiley Eppard pitched a complete game to lead the Lady Bruins to a 10-1 win over Marion Thursday night. She struck out seven and walked three.

Coach Scott Cagle said of his pitcher, “She was dead on from the get go. We will need her the rest of the year to pitch like that.”

The offense also collected 10 hits. Erin Cagle went 2-3 and Kiley Eppard went 2-4. Grace Simmons, Lauriah Lytle, Reagan Harding, Jaci Rodgers and Emma Jacobs all had a hit.

The second game was called in the middle of the fifth inning, so that game does not count.
