The Blackford Lady Bruins got their first chance to take the court this season in their opening scrimmage against Muncie Central.

It may have been a scrimmage, but the Lady Bruins didn’t disappoint “winning” each of the four quarters.

Although the Lady Bruins return five starters, they look very different on the court.

Coach Mitch Waters commented, “The competition and approach that our team brings to practice every night is what you dream of as a coach. You never know coming into the season how they are going to play together or if they will let some of the prior season struggles deter them from being as good as they can be.

“Tonight, I felt like for a team that was 1-21 last season and losing to Muncie Central by 17, that we took care of business outscoring Muncie Central in all four of the quarters. Of course, we have a long way to go, but it was great seeing such great effort by all our girls!”

The Lady Bruins will kick off their official season tonight at Southwood.
