By any measure, the 2019 Election results are historic and significant. With this third consecutive Republican “sweep,” the voters have made it abundantly clear that they demand effective leadership and forward thinking policies created by those in City Hall. Our Team, and I cannot stress enough that we are a Team, walked Hartford City and personally spoke with hundreds of citizens in order to better understand their concerns. They had a clear vision and explained that vision well. They knocked on doors with hopes of connecting with the people in order to be prepared to work for them on Day 1. I think the results indicate they did, in fact, connect with the voters in a personal way.
The people of Hartford City can expect an honest, open and transparent government focused on sound fiscal responsibility and compassionate understanding. It is time to take Hartford City to another level and these newly elected conservative public servants are precisely the ones to do it.
I would be remiss if I did not recognize all the hard work and long hours put in by our Poll workers, the County Clerk’s Office and her staff, the Election Office workers, and the local Election Board. Their dedication and hard work insures your voices are heard and democracy reigns. Thank you all.
I would also like to take a moment and personally thank all the candidates, their families, and all the citizens who came out to vote. Your support is overwhelming and is greatly appreciated.
