The November Kindness mission group from Southside Elementary School poses with some of their Operation Christmas Child boxes. They were able to double their goal with help and donations from all Southside students and staff.

Operation Christmas Child is the world’s largest Christmas project of its kind. Volunteers send gift-filled shoeboxes to demonstrate love in a tangible way to children in need around the world.

Operation Christmas Child was created in 1990 by Dave Cooke and his wife Gill for children in Romania. Each November thousands of churches, schools, groups and individual donors prepare and collect shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies, personal items, and other small gifts.
