As the competition continues to intensify , the Bruin Harriers’ run proved once again their hard work and determination with great race times and some personal best times at the Maconaquah Invitational on Saturday. 

Leading the varsity boys team to the finish was Donavan Osborn (Jr) with a time of 17:52.6 who finished 21st. Coming in second for the team in 53rd place was Darius Osborn (So) with a time of 19:17.0. Third across the finish for the Bruins was Charleston Slentz (So) with a personal best time of 21:24.7, good for 77th overall. Todd Thornburg (Sr) completed his race with a personal best time of 22:19.3 good for 88th overall. With some absences, the boys’ did not score as a team.

Wicker leads Lady Bruins 

Chloe Wicker (So) lead the girls with a time of 21:35.5 placing her in the top 15, receiving an individual medal. Coming in second for the Lady Bruins was Allison Clamme (So) who finished 32nd overall with a time of 23:09.3. With a personal best, Ammee Uggen (So) ran a 23:13.2 to finish 34th. In fourth for the Lady Bruins was Una Bowman (Jr) who ran a personal best time 23:24.4 to finish 40th). Cierra Faber (Fr) finished fifth for the team with a PR of 23:51.3 (49th overall). Ruby Slentz (Sr) finished 66th overall with a time of 24:57.7. Allison Jacobs (Jr) finished 81st overall in racing her way to a time of 26:20.1. The Lady Bruins team placed 4th out of 15 teams.

JH Boys Finish 4th at Maconaquah Invite; Girls 7th 

The Blackford Junior High Cross-Country team traveled to Bunker Hill on Saturday to participate in the Maconaquah Invitational. It was a great day for the young Bruin harriers with several personal records and fast times running a 3K. 

The Junior High Boys’ placed 4th in the meet. Leading the way was Mason Kitterman (8th) with a personal best time of 11:38.1, earning him a 9th place individual ribbon. Coming in second for the team with another personal best record was Sam Barry (8th) with a time of 12:08.0, earning him an individual ribbon for 16th. Tanner Roberts (8th) raced to a personal record of 12:40.7 (37th place ranking). Jacob Barry (7th) ran his personal best time of 12:44.1 (42nd place finish). Klayten McCammon (6th) ran a 13:40.9 time, giving another personal record on the day. 

Trenton Norton (8th) ran a strong race with a finishing in 13:57.1 to give him a 68th individual place. Another personal record was set by Owen Norton (7th) as he raced to the finish with a time of 14:36.5 (79th place). Next across the finish line for the Bruins was Casey Bowman (6th) who ran for a time of 15:09.3 (87th overall). With a time of 15:39.1, Max Uggen (7th) made a strong run for the Bruins. Reece Walker (7th) raced to the finish with a time of 20:37.7. 

The Junior High Girls’ team also performed well at the race. Coming in first the Lady Bruins was Kayleigh Faber (7th) with a time of 13:14.5 (10th place), her personal best and top 25, earning her a ribbon. Racing to the finish in a time of 14:56.6 was Abigail Slentz (8th) to finish 39th overall) with a personal record. Kylee Faber (7th) finished 3rd for the team with a time of 15.03.3 (42nd place). Karlie Pitts (8th) ran a personal best time of 15:19.8, giving her a 49th overall placing. Kalli Mealy (8th) raced through with a time of 17:24.2 (80th place). Loralie Hile (8th) finished in 17:29.7 (81st place). Addison Clamme (6th) put up her personal best time of 18:23.3 to finish 88th overall. The team placed 7th overall.
