Pet of the Week

The News-Times spotlights pets at the Blackford County Animal Shelter who are available for adoption.

Oh my. Look at this little fella. This is Levi, a basset-cattle dog mix. I know, sounds like a weird combo, right? But trust me, it works. We’ll get more (and better) pix of him as he settles in to the shelter.

Levi is a senior gent who is incredibly sweet and sensitive. He’d be best as an only pet. He’s looking for people who are gentle and loving, and will adore a short-legged speckle with a lovely heart.

Levi is heartworm positive, but the shelter will be treating him for the heartworm. He can be adopted before his treatments are complete! The shelter will pay for any remaining treatments if he’s adopted before they’re finished.

Darling little Levi is 8 1/2 years young, neutered, vaccinated (including rabies), microchipped and kept current on monthly flea preventative. He entered the shelter in March 2018 as an owner surrender (through no fault of his own), and is very ready to go to a loving home with people who care for him!
